We are seeking engineers, with experience in mission planning, CONOPS development, and related modeling and analyses. Previous experience with NASA space and/or ground systems is also strongly preferred. The successful candidate will join the Strategic Operations team, with responsibilities including, but not limited to: 

  • Engaging with mission engineers, working collaboratively to understand mission objectives and CONOPS. 
  • Carrying out performance analyses and trade studies to determine communications and tracking options suitable to mission. 
  • Evaluating NASA and non-NASA network options relative to mission objectives 
  • Executing detailed analyses to include coverage, link budgets, etc. to inform decision making.  
  • Communicating outcomes in reports and briefing materials.
  • Coordinating with internal and external teams to gather necessary information for interface definition. 

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or similar technical field. 

Years of experience: 5-10 years in a relevant professional field. Graduate work can contribute to years of experience.  

Work Authorization: Candidate must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident.

Role / Work Schedule

This is a full-time position with a minimum requirement for on-site work in either our Greenbelt MD, Lakewood CO, or Cleveland OH office.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with NASA mission planning, CONOPS development, and related modeling and analyses.
  • Knowledge of NASA networks is advantageous 
  • Robust grasp of systems engineering practices, methodology, life cycle, with preference for experience in applying these skills in satellite/space systems context.  
  • Familiarity with commercial SATCOM – space and ground – systems is beneficial.
