Teltrium is seeking a mid-level Aerospace Engineer specializing in flight dynamics analysis and related systems engineering tasks for a SmallSat Relay System in support of a NASA program. The ideal candidate will have experience in spacecraft trajectory analysis, attitude control, and orbital mechanics. This role will involve working closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure the successful analysis, modeling, and implementation of spacecraft flight dynamics.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform flight dynamics analysis for the SmallSat Relay System spacecraft, including orbital insertion, orbit stability, attitude determination, and control.
  • Develop and validate trajectory models for mission planning and spacecraft operations.
  • Conduct trade studies on propulsion and maneuvering strategies for station-keeping and orbital adjustments.
  • Support integration of flight dynamics software with mission operations and ground control systems.
  • Assess space environment effects on spacecraft motion and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with RF, software, and systems engineers to optimize mission performance.
  • Document system designs, analysis results, and technical reports for stakeholders.
  • Provide independent verification and validation of vendor flight dynamics products.

Qualifications:

Education: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Aerospace Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field.

Experience:

  • 3+ years of experience in flight dynamics, orbital mechanics, or related fields.
  • Proficiency in simulation tools such as GMAT, STK, and MATLAB.
  • Strong understanding of spacecraft attitude control, propulsion, and orbital maneuvering.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Role/Work Schedule:

This is a full-time, on-site position in Greenbelt, MD.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with GEO and LEO spacecraft flight dynamics.
  • Knowledge of space environment effects on spacecraft motion.
  • Hands-on experience with mission design and trajectory optimization.
  • Understanding of cybersecurity measures related to space mission operations.
  • Experience with developing requirements and with risk management.
  • Familiarity with the NASA project lifecycle.
