The Engineering Team Lead combines technical expertise with leadership of a small, multidisciplinary team to deliver insights that shape the current operations and future network architectures of space communications missions. Key responsibilities include: 

  • Provide technical leadership to a multidisciplinary team by setting analytical direction, defining modeling and algorithmic approaches, and ensuring the rigor, traceability, and validity of analysis products. 
  • Develop and advance quantitative models, algorithms, and simulation frameworks grounded in systems engineering and communications theory to expand mission analysis tool capabilities and assess current and future space communications networks. 
  • Lead complex system analyses using developed models and frameworks, including analyses of alternatives, network loading and capacity studies, coverage assessments, and RF communications link analyses. 

 

Qualifications 

Education/Experience: Bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of relevant industry/project experience, or a Master’s degree with at least 3 years of relevant industry/project experience, in Electrical Engineering or Physics. 

Work Authorization: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident required. 

Role / Work Schedule 

This is a full-time, on-site position in Greenbelt, MD 

Preferred Skills 

  • Experience with satellite communications ground systems, including RF modulation techniques, errorcorrection coding, link budgets, and protocols. 
  • Proven ability to lead technically through influence and expertise, mentoring engineers and analysts while maintaining deep engagement in complex technical problem solving.
